We THOUGHT it could

walk on water---------------------

At 3pm Ryan went out to instruct our hired man to clean out the pond a bit. Ryan's last words were, "Don't sink her in the pond", to which he promptly replied, "Oh, you can't get this thing stuck"! At 6pm Ryan got a phone call from Jon, "Uh, the hi hoe is a little stuck". And Ryan said, "That's fine we'll get her out in the morning" to which Jon hesitantly said, "Oh, alright". Then an hour later Ryan got another phone call from Jon who now had a bit of panic in his voice,
"We gotta get her out tonight, she's sinking".
So Ryan called in a big oilfield deck truck with a 60 tons wench, but it couldn't budge the hi hoe and the truck also got stuck. Then they called in another one of their big trucks to pull the first truck out. It was late so we called it a night.

Here is what happened the next day. In order to get the hi hoe out we had to call in two deck trucks, two hi hoes and a back hoe. Enjoy the pictures and please laugh because we did!
What else could we do? I felt worse for Jon than anything else.

"Yeah, our playground equipment is in"! the kids.

Final bill after extraction around $6500! This happened on August 28th and the hi hoe is still in the shop. We don't have the bill on that, yet. Is it coincidence that Ryan paid the insurance on the hi hoe at 12pm that afternoon? They aren't thrilled with the expenses, but they are keeping their part of the contract and so far we haven't had to pay for the mess. So make sure you pay your insurance premiums-now!

After all is said and done Jon is a happy man. And yes he still works for us!!!

Wow!! Yikes!! It'll be a good story years down the road. I remember my parents telling a story somehow of a tractor/truck/something falling into our pond. I'd forgotten about it--I'll have to ask them for details. :)
