The kids and I have been taking care of the cows while Ryan is busy...
This morning Brooklyn, Tyson, and Colby were the first ones out to the
barn. Brooklyn came screaming in, "A cow got out"!
Me, "GREAT"! We were just going to feed "real quick" on our way out the
door for school. Luckily, I was in pretty good spirits this morning so Brayden
and I went out to survey the challenge. Two of the bigger calves (we have six in
the barn right now) had pushed their way out and were eating the straw...straw!
I guess they only got grain last not and no hay. We walked up to them and Brayden
had me worried that it took him and Uncle AJ 2 hours to get them back in. Wonderful!
So I said, "Get back in", immediately the first one went back in
where it came from, the second one tried to be a stinker, but we blocked any way out and pushed him a bit
and he scurried back in.
Yahoo! Divine intervention I AM SURE!
Then I had to get some of the hay from the three BIG COWS in the corral and they weren't very
excited that I was taking away from their HUGE pile.
Seriously, you selfish animals! Don't come running
at a lady with a pitch fork! I told them, (yes, I talk to the animals like they are people to hide my fear),
and I poked them too. Then I hurried and put three pitch forks to the calves in the barn and
got on my way.
The kids were late, but it was a fun ??? adventure for the morning!
I hate getting manure on my hands!

That is awesome Tonya. My kids would love to join the chase. However, I'll pass on sharing one room with all my kids!
Oh please! Maneuer on your hands, Childs play! I used to get it on my feet, arms, back and butt! Yeah I loved being thrown from that horse, and running through the pasture barefoot! Speaking of live stock I didn't know you guys had cows now! How about Brooklyns pony? Have you gotten that yet? Little cow girl can't be a cow girl without her horse :-)
Oh you've just proved it then, Diego always said that Brookie should be ours and well if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...... In my case if it gallops like a horse across the floor :-) hehe
