Easter Fun

After a long day of cleaning the yard we went ahead with our Saturday Easter celebration. The kids decorated their Easter bags (we usually decorate an ice cream bucket, but I didn't save enough this year). Anyway, the kids helped fill the eggs then Ryan hid them. I don't know why my kids like do the prep work, but they do and they have a great time. It was a short party, but it worked for all of us dirty and tired folk.

Colby was covered in mud from playing in the water earlier that afternoon. It was nice enough to have the slip and slide out. Welcome spring! We all ended up with sunburns from the outdoor weekend! Loved it!

Brayden and Tyson had to do a little climbing to get their Easter eggs. They don't mind the adventure though.

I love Easter Sunday. We try to make it special by getting Brook a new dress and the boys something simple like matching ties or shirt. This year I didn't want a colored shirt so I found nice sweaters for the boys. It actually turned out really nice. We always have a special talk about the Savior's resurrection and how the new clothes they get represent the new body that Jesus had on that special Easter morning. I hope they understand how important it is to have faith that we will all be resurrected some day!

I LOVE this picture of my boys. I can just imagine them when they are 14, 16, and 18! Watch out!

My great friend Connie suffered the dress search with me this year! Thanks so much! We looked all over Lethbridge and finally found Brooks dress at Costco for 19 bucks! Brooklyn loves it and the simplicity is her. I had to get her a sweater too to go with the boys.

My Easter dress was my mother-in-laws from when she was younger with kids. Just before they left on their mission in March we went to their house to say good-bye. I happened to flip through a photo album that had a picture of her wearing this dress. I told her it was cute and she gave a sigh and said something to the effect of how she was so sad she had to give it away because it didn't fit her anymore. I said, "Mom, I have been looking for a white dress". Luckily, she hadn't given it a way she just had it in the charity bag. We ran up stairs and she gave it to me. Thanks! I love it and it fits perfectly!

So if Tyson wasn't totally pulling a face this could be the cutest picture of my kids! Oh well! That is just my Tyson so why not show him how he is! Big smiles! I love these kids. They get a long so well lately. I have been feeling bad because they don't need me as much. They play Pokemon together all the time-yes Brooklyn included!

For you Mom Jepsen! Your handsome Brayden in the suit you bought him! Thanks again!

What great pictures of all your kids! They are so cute! I know what you mean about getting older and bigger and not needing mom as much. It's hard to accept, isn't it? Enjoy them while we can, right? Love to catch up on your blog. It's great!

Your kids are so cute! I wish my kids were getting along well lately. I'm ready to send them to you so I don't hurt them! We are so stressed. Still no house. We've looked at nearly 20 homes in the last few days.
