Running 8k

Ladiesfest is over! Ladiesfest is an annual run to raise breast cancer awareness. At the end of the run they have a motivational speaker and food!
Yeah, back to running a slower 30 minutes a day until it is time to get ready for another race. This year was much different that the last two since I usually compete with my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws on a mother/daughter team. My mother and father-in-law are serving a mission in Nauvoo and I missed her enthusiasm greatly! She called twice to wish me luck so that helped. Whitney decided to do a half marathon instead of the little 8k. Good for her, but I missed her as well. Some of my other sisters-in-law couldn't make it up for the run and so I convinced a friend of mine to join in on the run. It has been a good experience to run over the past three years and a fun way to stay in shape because I have a goal to work towards.
So I don't have pictures, but I was pleased with how the race went. There is a giant hill at the end that goes on FOREVER! I really wanted to run the entire hill, but I just didn't train on many hills. I only walked twice and at the end I was able to kick into a pretty good pace for the sprint at the finish. Needless to say I am happy it is finished and 25th place out of 674 runners isn't too bad to show for it!
